Multifaceted perspectives

You will be supporting our commissioning operations. You will also be responsible for the equipment implementation and service of electrical controls system PLC/HMI programming. In addition, your responsibilities will include the following:

Taking responsibility together
  • Responsible for support of OEM equipment at the manufacturing facilities, including remote or on-site support of world-wide manufacturing facilities.
  • Responsible to assist new equipment installation and implementation.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting and problem solving OEM equipment controls related issues
  • Responsible to interface with multiple customer departments to ensure controls policies and standards are being adhered to.
  • Ensures adherence to all safety procedures
Contribute own competencies
  • Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (preferable Bachelor’s Degree)
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, engineering or IT Systems background is a plus
  • Experienced with working in a multinational team
  • Good understanding and knowledge in controls engineering techniques and practices which would be required for global customer facilities including North America, Asian, and European countries.
  • Proven understanding, knowledge and ability to trouble-shoot electrical/electronic control systems.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and safety requirements.
  • Good understanding and knowledge programming of Rockwell Automation Logix platform PLC’s, including ladder and function block diagram.
  • Good understanding and knowledge programming Rockwell Automation Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) including PanelView Plus, PanelView Plus CE, and FactoryTalk View ME/SE.
  • Good understanding and knowledge programming of Siemens S7 / TIAPortal PLC’s, including ladder and statement list logic
  • Basic understanding of corporate Ethernet architectures and systems.
  • Good communications skills both oral and written.
  • Proven problem-solving skills

Our first meeting usually takes place as an online meeting. In this initial exchange, you and your future manager will get to know each other. During the interview, you will have the opportunity to learn more about the position and the company.

During a personal interview on site, you will learn more about our location and your future workplace. In this in-depth exchange, we discuss all the requirements and framework conditions for the job. Of course, we will also answer all your questions.

Note: If you apply for one of our apprenticeships, an aptitude test will follow at this point.

Onboarding

We want your start at VON ARDENNE to be successful from the very beginning.

In our onboarding program, you will receive a comprehensive overview of our company in addition to your professional induction.

As part of the contract handover, you will receive a checklist to prepare your start at VON ARDENNE. We will also provide you with the access data for your employee account, which you can already use from the comfort of your own home. Here you can prepare for your first day at work, e.g. upload a photo for your employee ID card.

The first working day starts together for all new employees. At interdepartmental informational events, you will get an overview of the company and can make initial contacts. You will also receive your technical equipment on your first day of work.

Now the technical training starts. During the initial period, your individual on-the-job training plan will provide you with an orientation on all subject areas and the relevant contact persons. If you have any questions or need help, your manager and the team are always available to advise you. In addition, we offer a variety of formats for networking and knowledge sharing.

In the course of joint discussions, we provide mutual feedback regarding your entry into the company. Even after your onboarding, we remain in constant communication. In our annual development meetings, we regularly talk about your career prospects and additional development steps at VON ARDENNE.
